At Stoney Creek Jewelry, each piece tells a story — one of Michigan’s natural beauty, intentional design, and sustainable love. My handmade jewelry is infused with Michigan native stones like Petoskey stones (our state stone!), and upcycled treasures like Leland Blues, and Michigan beach glass — treasures handpicked during family shoreline adventures. These stones, shaped by nature and polished by hand, become part of something greater: wearable art that connects busy, earth-loving, career-minded women to their roots and radiance.

Hey there, beach-loving soul!
Do you ever find yourself wandering the shoreline, getting lost in the sound of the waves and the warm feel of the sun on your skin? Maybe you can’t resist picking up that smooth beach glass or hunting for that perfectly patterned Petoskey stone. Yeah… same here!
I’m Shawna — jewelry artist, proud Michigan rock-hunter, and owner of Stoney Creek Jewelry, LLC. When I’m not wire-weaving stones in sterling silver or creating new jewelry with vintage finds, you’ll catch me cheering on my youngest daughter as she pitches for her high school & travel softball team — and yep, I’m her catcher when practicing too, full catcher's gear required!
My love for jewelry goes way beyond sparkle. I believe every piece we wear should hold meaning — a memory, a moment, a vibe. Like the sterling silver labradorite pendant I wore the day my daughter pitched her first no-hitter (13 strikeouts, total boss moment!). That pendant has become our lucky charm, and I’ve worn it to every game since. It's a reminder of pride, joy, and that unstoppable mama-daughter bond!
That’s the magic I try to bring to each piece I create — jewelry that’s not only beautiful but deeply personal. Whether it’s crafted from Michigan beach finds like Leland Blues or upcycled vintage treasures, every design is made to connect you to your story, your roots, and your light.
As a busy mom of three, I get the chaos. Life’s wild — your jewelry shouldn’t be. That’s why I design handmade, one-of-a-kind boho pieces that feel effortless, earthy, and totally you. Every stone, upcycled find, or semi-precious gem is chosen with intention, and every piece is created with love (and maybe a beachy breeze in the background ).
And because I believe in spreading good vibes, one of my favorite things is surprising customers or strangers with a little extra joy — a free pair of earrings, a pendant, or even my homemade natural soap. As we explore Michigan’s shorelines and waterways in search of native stones, we take time to care for the land & water by collecting and disposing of litter, ensuring our precious landscapes and shorelines remain pristine. We also upcycle beach glass and by-products from old iron mills, such as Leland Blues, giving new life to materials that might otherwise be discarded. If we ALL do a little, it leads to alot!

Healing crystals and semi-precious gems are chosen intuitively for their healing properties, color, and rarity — and when possible, I use recycled sterling silver and upcycle vintage jewelry to reduce waste and add a touch of soulful history.

Jewelry Care
It is recommended that you:
- Store your piece in a sealable air-tight reusable & recyclable plastic bag with the anti-tarnish strip included with your purchase free of charge. This helps to slow down any naturally occurring tarnish.
- Choose a cool dry area to store your piece.
- Humidity, water exposure, or chemical reactions such as perfume or lotions that you use can speed up tarnishing and/or have an adverse reaction to any adhesives used.
- Use a polishing cloth to shine it back to new if you see visible tarnish. A small polishing cloth will be provided to you free of charge as a customer appreciation gift with any purchase.
